How To Tail Slide 270 Out
A Tail Slide 270 Out is a very common buttering trick that is fun, looks awesome and builds your skills for more advanced jib tricks. This tutorial comes from our Buttering Like A Boss series and to check out the easier and harder progressions, check out these tutorials:

Step 1) Coming Out Switch
The key warm up trick is a Frontside Tail Butter coming out switch (which is covered in the Basics Of Buttering series). For the Tail Slide 270, you're basically going to do the exact same movement but adding another 180 as you pop out. The technique you learnt in the Counter Rotated 360s tutorial is going to come in handy here for spinning a very quick Frontside 270 out.
The Tailslide coming out Switch is your stepping stone.
The Tailslide 270 Breakdown
- Nollie into a Tail Butter
- Let your upper body continue to rotate
- When your reach a maximum wound up position, add a small Ollie and counter rotate the 270 out
Don't be afraid to let your board butter for a bit longer while doing the trick. Doing this means you may only have to 180 out which is even easier while you're learning.
Uphill Edge
While doing any buttering trick, you need to keep a little pressure on your uphill edge, which in this case is your heel edge. If you don't keep you're downhill edge up, it will catch in the snow and cause you to eat it.
Edge on the uphill edge while buttering. Trust us on this one.
Just remember that when transferring this trick to jib features, you need to keep your base flat against the feature. If you use the same uphill edge tactic you use while buttering this trick, you will slip out and eat it.
Keep that base dead flat. Trust us on this one.
Now go butter up that mountain! Enjoy!
