Team RiderMika Heymans | Progression Through Year-Round Training

At just 16 years old, Mika Heymans is already proving himself as one of Belgium’s most promising young riders. Training with Freestyle Team Snow Valley and Shredmasters, Mika has developed a style that’s both technical and creative, and he’s now competing on the European Cup circuit in Slopestyle, Big Air, and Rail Events.

Mika Heymans Snowboard Addiction Team Rider

"For me, I think the Snowboard Addiction training gear is incredibly useful! On trampoline it really helps to unlock your full potential in the way of air awareness. You can learn how to do flat spins, flips, rodeos, corks — you name it! I learned my backside 720 just from trampoline. The Tramp Board is really recommended! And also on the Jib Board, you learn how to go from 50-50s to bluntslides and pretzels in no time. It’s a great way to find where you need to lean with what trick and where you need to look when on or off the rail. I landed the switch backside tailslide 270 first try on snow just because I’d done it hundreds of times on the Snowboard Addiction Balance Bar. Both the Tramp Board and the Jib Board are great tools to improve your riding!"

Mika Heymans

What sets Mika apart is his dedication to year-round training. He’s been using Snowboard Addiction gear from a young age to sharpen his skills and build confidence before hitting the snow. On the trampoline, the Tramp Board has helped him master spins, flips, and corks — he even credits it with unlocking his first backside 720. On the Jib Board and Balance Bar, Mika has repeated rail tricks hundreds of times until they became second nature, which led to stomping them first try on snow.

That training is now showing up in contests, with strong results like a top-25 finish at Kitzsteinhorn in the Rail Event. Every season, Mika continues to push his boundaries and raise his level, proving that hard work off the mountain pays off once you drop in.

We’re stoked to have Mika as part of the Snowboard Addiction team and can’t wait to see how far his journey takes him. Keep an eye on this young rider — he’s only just getting started.
