Do Our Training Boards Work On The Mountain?
We decided to find out the hard way.
Just for fun, we sent SA team rider Taevis up the mountain with a Jib Board to see how it would handle on actual snow. The answer? Technically doable… but definitely not recommended.
Here’s what we learned:
-
No metal edges means no real turning.
-
Hardpack snow makes it nearly impossible to control.
-
Slams happen fast—and hurt.
-
Slushy spring snow? Way more manageable.
After a rough start with three heavy slams in a row, things got smoother once the snow softened up. Rails were rideable, straight airs were fun, and the challenge itself brought a lot of laughs.
So, should you try riding a Jib Board on the mountain?
Absolutely not. It’s not designed for that, and it’s way more dangerous than it looks. But hey—it made for a good story and a few solid smiles.
